Hey, everyone! I’m back today with a book tag called The A to Z Book Survey. I’m not going to tag anyone at the end, so if you like it, feel free to do it too.
A – Author you’ve read the most books from
B – Best sequel ever
C – Currently Reading
D – Drink of Choice while reading
Probably iced tea, because that’s about 82% of all I drink
E – E-Reader or physical book
I prefer physical copies for the aesthetic and ebooks for reading. It’s easier to make notes on my Kindle, but physical books and their covers are just so pretty.
F – Fictional character you would have dated in high school
Jeezus crust, who I would’ve dated in high school? I was a very different person in high school. Hell, I wasn’t even Ben until my senior year.
G – Glad you gave this book a chance
H – Hidden gem book
J – Just finished
I just finished My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga, which I read for the Beckmindavidera readathon!
K – Kinds of books I won’t read
I will not under any circumstances read horror and most likely not thriller/suspence either. I always say it’s because I have too much anxiety and I don’t need books/movies/etc. giving me more!
L – Longest book you’ve read
Okay so apparently the longest book I’ve read (according to what I have on Goodreads) is The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan which really surprised me because I don’t remember the books in that series being so long? Not that 557 pages is that long compared to other books out there.
M – Major book hangover because of…
Oh my gosh, The Disasters gave me a major book hangover which was Not Good™ because it was one of my final reads of 2018, during crunch time when I really needed to finish a bunch to get to my reading goal and it delayed me by a few days because I just couldn’t stop thinking about it and open another book!
N – Number of bookcases you own
I don’t technically even own one proper bookcase. I have a thing with shelves in my room at home meant for entertainment systems like radios and game consoles, so books don’t quite fit right on there, but that’s the only place I can put them until I can invest in a real bookcase and actually make room in my bedroom for it. In my dorm at school, there are two small shelves attached to the desks that they give us, so I have about eight novels on one and my textbooks on the other. But anyway the short answer is I have none and I’m sad.
O – One book you’ve read multiple times
I try not to reread books because I have so many that I need to read for the first time and I know rereading “just one” book is a slippery slope. But I reread Openly Straight after its sequel Honestly Ben came out and I constantly think about rereading it again and again.
P – Preferred place to read
In my room. It’s usually the most distraction-free place I can find and it helps that I can relax in my bed while I read.
Q – Quote that inspires you/ gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read
“I’m not going to die,” she said. “Not till I’ve seen it.”
“Seen what?”
Her smile widened. “Everything.”
R – Reading Regret
I regret all those years in high school when I told myself I was “too busy” to read when I actually didn’t cut out time to read. I think it would’ve helped me a lot.
S – Series you started and need to finish
I’m actually pretty good about finishing series, so I’ll say that one I really need to get to because I haven’t started at all is the Grisha Verse Books by Leigh Bardugo!
T – Three of your all-time favorite books
Oh my gosh, why do you limit me like this? Three of the more recent ones are Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore, The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo, and Like Water by Rebecca Podos.
U – Unapologetic fan of…
Audiobooks! You can’t shame me for reading a different way than you do if I’m not ashamed of it
V – Very excited for this release, more than for all others
I am so so so so SO excited for Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver. Honestly, they’re tied at the top of my most anticipated 2019 releases list because I need both of them in my hands right now but they don’t come out until the middle of the year!
W – Worst bookish habit
Starting ten books at the same time and not finishing any of them! It’s practically a talent at this point.
X – X marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book
The top shelf on my weird bookcase is my foreign literature, so the 27th book I have is La tía Julia y el escribidor by Mario Vargas Llosa, which I hope to be able to read one of these days without much trouble!
Y – Your latest book purchase
I just got the audiobook for Anger is a Gift by Mark Oshiro with this month’s Audible credit so I hope to read/listen to that one really soon
Z – Zzzzz snatcher. The last book that kept you up way too late
I stayed up until like 5am finishing Coffee Boy by Austin Chant because it was an amazing read, by the time I realized how late it was, I’d only had a few chapters left, and because it was at the end of December and gotta finish that Reading Challenge, ya feel?

Ahh I have to agree, A Gathering of Shadows was such a good sequel, I hope you’ll love the finale of this series, too 🙂 and I also can’t wait to read Red, White and Royal Blue, it sounds AMAZING! 😀
Happy reading! <3
I’m on hold for a copy of ACOL but I need it in my hands right now 😭 Same with RWRB though too
Worst bookish habit – can totally relate I’m currently reading about 7 books and I don’t even know where I put some of them down.
I’ve totally been there! It’s such a problem 😅
I think is totally fair to count manga. Especially FMA cause it’s amazing. 😍
