Ariel and Raeleen are back with another Reading Rush challenge! They’ve decided to add another Reading Rush to the calendar (so the summer one is still going on!) because of the global quarantines happening in response to the pandemic. The prompts were released on Friday, April 3rd and the readathon takes place later this week from the 16th to the 19th. After giving it a lot of thought and trying to line up some titles with Tay’s Social Distancing Reading Bingo, I think I finally have my tbr for the #StayHomeReadingRush! Here are my choices for each of the four prompts.
Read a book with a house on the cover
I really spent a solid twenty minutes looking through all the books I own to see which had a house on the cover and narrowed it down to three. Of course, I had to go with the one I’m most excited to read which is The Total Eclipse of Nestor Lopez by Adrianna Cuevas. (You see? There’s a house, maybe his house, very small in the background on the right.)
Read a book in the same room the whole time
Mostly, I read in my bedroom anyway because the rest of my house is way too loud during the day. But on nicer days, I’ve been sitting outside to read. So I’ll commit to reading Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibañez just in my room since I’ll probably listen to the audiobook version narrated by Ana Osorio on my Echo Dot which would be a pain in the butt to take outside.
Read a book set somewhere you wish you could go
I made plans with my friend Tay to go see Take Me Out on Broadway sometime this month. However, everything is obviously canceled indefinitely SO… I suppose I’ll just read the play myself. So I’m filling this prompt with Take Me Out by Richard Greenberg because I’d love to go see this play when/if it comes back to the stage but also because I wish baseball would come back and I wish I could go to a baseball game.
I miss the Phillies.
Read a book that will make you smile
I have heard so many people talk about how fluffy and cute Knit One Girl Two by Shira Glassman is so I expect I’ll love it, too. Since it’s a cute romance, it’ll probably make me smile. Plus it’s been on my TBR forever, so #StayHomeReadingRush is a great chance for me to finally get to it
