WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. To participate, just answer the following questions:

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Transgender 101What are you currently reading?

This is one of the books that I borrowed from the Gender & Sexuality Center at my university. When I come across books like this that try to explain gender and transgenderism, I like to read them, because I like to see how others describe the concepts in terms they think people with little to no previous exposure would understand. I was hopeful that this one would be good and a quick read (it’s 127 pages), but I’m on Chapter 3 and there are already so many things I disagree with in this text so look out for a review in the upcoming weeks!

prince and the dressmakerWhat did you recently finish reading?

So this isn’t a book that I just finished, but I want to talk about this one, and I don’t think I’m gonna write a full review of it ever, so I’m gonna talk about it now. This graphic novel is adorable and beautifully drawn. I was scared of this either having a tragic ending or having bad trans rep, but I loved this so much, and it’s such a cute story. The Prince and the Dressmaker is a book about familial and social expectations and coming into yourself, and Wang did an amazing job with it. I’m excited to see it was nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award, so I’m hoping to see some good news when the winners are announced on December 4th.

unbrokenWhat do you think you’ll read next?

I think I’ll go next for one of the anthologies that have been sitting on my desk all semester. I’d been thinking AllOut edited by Saundra Mitchell because it’s a collection of fantasy/fiction stories by YA authors that feature queer characters, but now I’m thinking I’ll start Unbroken edited by Marieke Nijkamp, which I have an ARC of, because this semester has been terrible for me in terms of physical and mental health. Hopefully, these stories can lift my spirits a bit and give the motivation to finish these last two weeks of the semester. 🤞🤞

Thank you for joining me on this lovely Wednesday. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!
