What are you currently reading?
I’m currently listening to the audiobook for Poet X, which I’m loving. I’m so glad that Elizabeth Acevedo narrated it herself because it adds that extra layer to the audio, and damn, she is an amazing performer. If these poems were recorded by anyone else, I think I would’ve skipped the audiobook and looked for the physical copy in the library. But long story short, I’m about two-thirds of the way through this book and I’m in love with Acevedo’s writing.
What did you recently finished reading?
I just finished Blanca & Roja yesterday. This was my most anticipated book release of the entire year and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I’m in love with Paige and Roja and Blanca and Yearling and everyone. I also listened to the audiobook for this one and I love how they had four narrators—one for each POV character. (Side note: I love Kyla Garcia’s narration.) I’ll be writing a full review really soon.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I have to get through a lot of assigned readings for class, including Signs Preceding the End of the World by Yuri Herrera and Human Acts by Han Kang. Plus I brought a bunch of books to my dorm hoping I’d read them this semester and I’m still getting through La Casa en Mango Street because I lack time and motivation. So It’s a toss-up!
Thank you for joining me on this lovely Wednesday. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!
