Camp NaNoWriMo Update #2

Well, this update came a lot later than I’d planned. Better late than never, though, especially since I’m actually working on the project now. I had a rough start, as you can see in my first update, but I actually got ahead last week, and here are my stats:Camp NaNo Graph 2

Target Word Count: 15,000 words

Total Words Written: 8,583 words

Words Remaining: 6,417 words

Suggested Daily Goal: 484 words

Average Per Day: 572 words

Average to Finish On Time: 378 words per day

How To Control The WeatherEven though I’m ahead of schedule, I decided to lower my word goal. Last week I started two 4-week summer classes that are going to take up a lot of my time for the rest of July, and I’m worried they’ll get in the way of my writing too much. Not to mention I’m working two jobs this summer. Why do I do this to myself? Besides, I figured it would be better to shoot for lower and exceed that than to miss a higher goal since I’m still trying to get my creative writing motivation up.

In other news relating to this project, I made a cover for it! Of course, this is just one way I procrastinate on writing, but hey, a visual!

How is everyone else’s Camp NaNoWriMo going?

  1. Congrats on your Camp Nano progress! Cutting your goal back sounds like a smart life choice – I set my goal lower for this Camp Nano than April’s to help make sure I could meet it. I’m trying to write only 10,000 words this month, and I’m almost halfway there (I’m 25 words shy of 5,000)! I might be a little further along, except I keep stopping writing to do some research for my novel.
